Ministry Executive (Children Ministry)

REPORTING TO: Senior Ministry Executive, Children Ministry

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Church Children Ministry team. The Children Ministry Staff will support all service operational requirements and programme initiatives to maximise every child’s experience of encountering Jesus through meaningful and purposeful engagement with their teachers.

The Children Ministry Staff will assist in the overall running of the Children Ministry, together with the Senior Ministry Executive, under the direction of the Pastor overseeing the Children’s Ministry and the Ministry Coordinator. This role involves assisting in the planning and executing age-appropriate programs, fostering a safe and welcoming environment, and collaborating with the ministry team and parents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help identify, purchase, customise and/or develop engaging and age-appropriate learning materials and resources for children which engages them in bible-learning activities and teaching materials and resources for the teachers.
  • Assist to organize special events such as Meet-The-Parents sessions, Ministry retreat, Ministry appreciation session and community service projects in collaboration with other ministries in Christ Methodist Church.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to the children and/or parents when necessary.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, keeping them informed about program activities.
  • Participate in the monthly Children Ministry’s Prayer Meeting.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to Children Ministry, including but not limited to record-keeping, on-boarding of new kids and parents, tabulation of statistics, resource acquisition and printing of teaching and craft materials for weekly lessons.
  • Act as a stand in teacher if a teacher is unable to cover the class, when necessary.
  • Provide support to the Children Ministry for the operations and administration for all its relevant programs and events, inclusive of room bookings, registration, publicity etc.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Reporting Officer.

Qualifications

  • Strong Christian faith and a commitment to demonstrating Christian values.
  • Love children and have experience working with children, preferably in a ministry or educational setting.
  • Competent in administration.
  • Able to work independently and a good team player.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, i.e., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Good written and communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work on weekends and after office hours as and when required.

Ministry Executive (Youth Ministry)

Christ Methodist Church is looking for an energetic Pastoral Team member overseeing Youth Ministry who is passionate about nurturing, equipping and building youths (aged 13-21) into life-long disciples of Christ. Being part of the ministry team, you will be working closely with the overseeing Pastor to steer, direct, grow and develop the Youth Ministry and see Youths transformed. Key administrative and ministerial responsibilities include, but not limited to, providing theologically sound biblical teaching primarily to youths up to tertiary, leading small and large group sessions, and coordinating virtual and in-person events.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral care, leadership, and discipleship for the Youth Ministry.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead youth events and programmes, including:
    • Discipleship & Nurture (from new believers to matured youth leaders)
    • Teaching & preaching (as and when required)
    • Counselling, mentoring & befriending
    • Fellowship, outreach events & camps
    • Planning & execution of weekly youth service
    • Youth-specific outreach events and mission trips
  • Provide administrative support for the ministry, regular correspondences to youth, families and volunteers and youth calendar updates
  • Supervisory of program coordinators and volunteers in relation to ministry events.
  • Recruitment, engagement, and relationship development with volunteers, youths and their families.
  • Participate and collaborate in CMC’s staff meetings, trainings, and events.

Qualifications

  • Alignment with the doctrinal articles of religion and the general rules of the Methodist Church (as contained in the Book of Discipline of the Methodist Church in Singapore) and its Social Principles.
  • A team player with a positive attitude who can adapt and thrive in a dynamic organizational environment, whilst striving for continuous improvement through evaluation and feedback.
  • Meticulous and conscientious in nature, with the ability to work with confidential information and maintain a high standard of honesty and integrity.
  • Ability and willingness to work nontraditional schedules which includes evenings and weekends.
  • Keen passion for growing in theological knowledge, and in understanding of contemporary youth culture to better support the Youth Ministry.

Skills and Experience

  • Have relevant theological studies, qualifications and/or experience in similar capacities.
  • Excellent communication, service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability in teaching the Bible and Christian discipleship to youths and young adults.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively plan and execute programs and events with strong time management & relational skills.

Media Executive

Christ Methodist Church, a member of the Methodist Church in Singapore located in the East, is seeking to fill the staff position of a Media Executive. The Media Executive will be expected to produce high-quality impactful video, photo, and other digital assets to be used in church events, on digital (web, social, app) and printed materials in a timely and on budget fashion. The role is fast-paced and will require the person to work on several projects at one time. The Media Executive must have a passion for creating compelling contact that is in line with our Church mission and vision.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Communications Executive and/or ministry stakeholders to create storyboards, scripts, video edits, and campaign plans for allocated mediums (e.g. in-service, social media).
  • Propose new ideas and concepts, while also following timelines and schedule for projects as outlined by the Communications Executive.
  • Design digital/print content that is on-brand and in-line with the mission and vision of the Church.
    • Produce visual communication for events and activities.
    • Adapt design to the respective digital (e.g., digital signage, social media, mobile app etc.) and real-world channels (e.g., posters, flyers , outdoor banners etc.).
  • Create video content that is on-brand and in line with the mission and vision of the Church.
    • Able to set up, move and operate cameras, lights, and audio equipment for in-studio or remote video capture.
    • Create title cards, end cards, place supers, and select music for video edits
    • Capture and edit high-quality video content for in-service, web, and social media use.
    • Able to upload & optimize digital content on the various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram etc.).
  • Execute photography or video shoots as required for special events, promotional materials, or digital mediums.
  • Organize, maintain and backup media files.
  • You will report to the Executive Director for administrative and work-related matters, including your work assignments and schedule.

Skills and Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience with a proven track record in media design and content creation.
  • Proficient in video-editing and post-editing effects.
  • Proficient in graphic design and typographic layouts.
  • Able to plan, anticipate production roadblocks, and have a backup plan ready.
  • Able to prioritize work to meet busy production and release schedules.
  • Able to lead and motivate volunteers.
  • Comfortable working with Adobe Creative Cloud and other editing and retouching programs (e.g. Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator etc.)
  • Familiar and able to work with digital media tools & platforms (e.g, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, WhatsApp, YouTube, Vimeo etc.)
  • Animation & Web development skills a plus.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English; ability to speak and write Mandarin is beneficial.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related disciple, or a certificate of completion in a related course preferable.
