This seminar is a practical, clinically-informed workshop designed to equip Christian communities to support individuals affected by suicide – whether experiencing suicidal thoughts or grieving a suicide loss. It aims to create awareness, develop basic practical skills, and foster a compassionate, informed response to suicidality. By shifting from silence to empathy, it empowers participants to expand the safety net within their communities, ensuring that no one faces their pain alone.

About the Trainer: Shantini Sathiyanesan
As a Counsellor & Trainer at SOS, Shantini supports individuals facing suicidality and acute emotional distress through crisis intervention, counselling, risk assessment, and safety planning. She also facilitates support groups, contributes to suicide prevention training, and advocates for mental health awareness and help-seeking. Shantini also integrates her clinical experience and facilitation skills to deliver suicide prevention and mental health training for community and faith-based audiences, including Christian Gospel Fellowship and Pentecost Methodist Church. Her learner-centred and evidence-based approach is marked by compassion and structure.
