SUMMARY:When An End Is Not The End - Difficult Prayers
DESCRIPTION:Date:  28 October 2023 (Saturday)\nTime: 9.00 am to 12.00 pm\nSpeaker: Dr Leow Theng Huat\nVenue: CMC \nWe sometimes have to make difficult prayers\, like when we pray for those suffering from severe debilitating illnesses. What should we pray for—healing or that God would take them home? What if the person is not a Christian? How do the notions of God’s sovereignty and our human responsibility to pray affect the outcome of the situations we face? This session will offer some perspectives on how to undertake such difficult prayers. \nAbout our Speaker: \nDr Leow Theng Huat is a lecturer of theology at Trinity Theological College. He is married to Cheng Ping\, and the couple has three children. The family are members of Wesley Methodist Church. \nSign Up\n\nWhen An End Is Not The End\nA Series of Talks on Death\, Loss and Grief. \nWhat happens when someone dies?\nIs it wrong for Christians to fear death?\nHow do we pray difficult prayers?\nHow do we deal with loss and grief?\nAre we prepared when the inevitable happens? \nThe subject of death can be difficult and even frightening for some. It is an inevitable part of life yet poorly understood and rarely talked about\, especially in our Asian culture. The Christian faith\, however\, has something distinctive and hopeful to offer. Come and hear from spiritual leaders and medical professionals as they speak on death\, loss\, and grief. Be equipped to face the inevitable and to lend support to others. Knowing what the Bible teaches about these topics should also motivate us to live today in preparation for the hereafter. \n1 July – Theology of Death & Afterlife\n8 & 15 July – Loss & Grief\n19 August – Panel Discussion: Advance Medical Directive\n28 October – Difficult Prayers
