Christ Methodist Church Kindergarten
is an established kindergarten registered with the Ministry
of Education
The
Objective of our Kindergarten
is to develop the physical, social-emotional, cognitive/intellectual
and linguistic capacities of our children. In addition, children
are also taught Christian values.
Teachers
in the Kindergarten are
qualified, experienced and dedicated and have been teaching
here for many years.
The
good teacher-pupil ratio enables
each child to develop at his/her own pace. Individual needs
are met as the teachers have the time to observe and maximize
each child's potential.

Curriculum |
| Language |
To
develop children's oral, reading and writing abilities
through hands-on activities. Cookery lessons,
gardening sessions and field trips are regular
features in our programme.
Chinese is also learnt through active participation
and through stories and songs. Children learn
to recognise and write simple characters.
Exposure
time to the Chinese language is increased to a
higher percentage by Kindergarten 2. |

| Mathematics
and Science |
Children
learn number skills and understand concepts of
measurement, time and the use of money through
real life situations.
Corners
are set up to encourage children to learn through
discovery. Trips are planned for children to find
out about their world and the environment they
live in. |

| Physical
and Aesthetic |
Gross
motor skills are encouraged through the use of
outdoor play equipment in a safe and enclosed
playground.
Creative
ideas are expressed through the use of art materials
in drawings and 3-D art pieces.
Children's
ability to use percussion instruments and their
awareness to rhythm is seen when they perform
at year-end concerts. |

are taught Christian values through Bible stories,
Christian songs and praises and prayers.
