INTENTIONAL
DISCIPLESHIP
What
is the Christian life all about?
This is a question that is
sometimes asked as one struggles
to understand the purpose,
meaning and direction of one’s
life. Jesus made it clear that
the Christian is called to a
life of discipleship.
"The
time has come," he said.
"The kingdom of God is
near. Repent and believe the
good news!" As Jesus walked
beside the Sea of Galilee, he
saw Simon and his brother Andrew
casting a net into the lake, for
they were fishermen. "Come,
follow me," Jesus said,
"and I will make you
fishers of men." At once
they left their nets and
followed him. When he had gone a
little farther, he saw James son
of Zebedee and his brother John
in a boat, preparing their nets.
Without delay he called them,
and they left their father
Zebedee in the boat with the
hired men and followed him.
(Mark 1:15-20
NIV)
One
of the first things Jesus did in
his life and ministry was to
proclaim the good news of the
kingdom and gather to him those
who would follow him as his
disciples. And when he first
called Simon and Andrew to
follow him he made it clear his
intention to make them into “fishers
of men.”
Jesus
showed himself to be very
intentional in the way he called
his disciples, taught them what
the Christian life involved and
trained them for ministry so
that they would eventually
continue the work of proclaiming
the good news of the kingdom.

TESTIMONIES
|
|
Mrs Raja:
I have been suffering pain in
three toes of my right foot for
a few months. The pain is
especially bad at night. I
consulted a doctor and I put
medicated plasters but it hasn't
got better. Before service
started on Sunday 29 June 2008,
I asked Fung Peen to help me
pray for healing. Praise God! I
do not suffer pain in my toes
anymore!
Irene
Lee:
On 17 April 2008 I went for a
routine medical check-up.
Results showed that there was
blood in my urine. My family
doctor suggested I go for a
further specialists check-up. I
felt pain on the left side of my
body for quite some time. Two
days before my check-up, on 25
May 2008, two of our pastors
prayed for me and I could feel
God touching and healing me. The
pain was gone that very day.
When the results came out on 7
June 2008, everything was
normal. ....continue>
Luke &
Wendy:
When we first got to our resort
at Port Dickson, Wendy started
to have persistent asthma
attacks, especially when we
worship at the function room,
presumably caused by the
carpeting of the room. It was so
bad that she needed to take a
puff of salbutamol inhaler every
30mins, as long as she stayed in
the room. But whenever the
service was over, and we left
the function room, her asthma
attacks would stop. It was
getting so severe that I was
getting a little worried that
she may even run out of
inhalers. Even then, that did
not stop us from continuing our
worship at the function room.
